BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Supply Chain Development – Regional will spearhead in-state economic development outreach efforts to support the growth of existing semiconductor firms and assist small businesses in pivoting into the semiconductor supply chain. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain Development, this role will serve as a critical bridge between New York's semiconductor strategy and regional economic expansion efforts. This position will lead statewide engagement initiatives, develop communication channels with in-state semiconductor stakeholders, and work with economic development agencies to ensure New York businesses are well-positioned to leverage industry growth. The Director will also provide strategic oversight for infrastructure and site readiness planning to support business expansion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economic Development, Public Administration, or a related field. Associate's degree with 7 years, direct relevant experience may substitute.
Relevant Experience required: A minimum of five (5) years in economic development, business expansion, or supply chain development. Demonstrated experience in regional economic development strategies, business attraction, or industry cluster growth. Experience in advanced manufacturing or semiconductor industry engagement.
Knowledge Required: Strong familiarity with New York State's economic development landscape.
ALTERNATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES: A minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service in another (relevant) position with Empire State Development. Up to 2 years of accredited post-secondary education, or service in the U.S. military may be substituted for service at ESD.
