What You'll Do
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of Relationship Management subject matter experts, leveraging knowledge of partners, industry trends, and the competitive environment.
  • Strategic Vision and Leadership: Set a strategic direction for the team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals. Develop long-term plans and strategies to enhance participant engagement and drive growth.
  • Business Development Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for managing Strategic Retailers and Tech Partnerships on Discover Network. Identify new opportunities, negotiate partnerships, and ensure successful implementation of key initiatives across the three network brands (DCI/PULSE and Discover Network).
  • Senior-Level Ambassador: Act as a senior-level ambassador and point of escalation, driving goals that support initiatives mutually beneficial to Discover and the merchants.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes in the US payments industry that affect strategic partners. Develop innovative products, marketing strategies, and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Work with marketing, IT, and customer service to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the business achieves its financial targets.
  • Influence Senior Leadership: Influence and interface with Senior Payments leadership, presenting strategic initiatives, gaining buy-in, and driving execution across the organization.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management
  • 10+ years in Payment, account management, strategic client management or related
In Lieu Of Education Experience
  • 12+ years in Payment, account management, strategic client management or related
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's in Business Administration and Management
  • 12+ years in Payment, account management, strategic client management or related

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $177,500.00 to $270,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as location, experience, education, and skill level may impact pay.
