Director, Software Engineering (Card Data Platform) at Capital One. You will work on customer-facing web and mobile applications, RESTful microservices, back-end Java systems, and machine learning models. The role involves leading a platform that provides a 360 degree view of businesses in the US, powered by entity resolution and data & machine learning pipelines. The platform ingests data from multiple third-party sources to identify and elevate information for use in marketing funnels and verifications to enable growth of business customers.

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team
• Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Collaborate within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies
• Lead craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions
• Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor others
• Encourage innovation, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
• Improve the velocity of your teams and others
• Lead efforts to deploy applications into AWS environments
• Break monolithic applications into microservices and build new microservices

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 7 years of software development experience
• At least 5 years of people management experience

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 10+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of experience in Agile practices
• 3+ years of experience in PySpark
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in Machine Learning
