Director, Software Engineering (Bank Modernization) at Capital One. This role leads, mentors, and grows a software engineering organization to deliver a game-changing core banking platform powering multiple lines of business. The leader attracts top talent and ensures the delivery of customer‑oriented software in an iterative methodology.

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers building the core banking platform.
• Embrace and incubate emerging technology and open source products across all platforms.
• Modernize existing technology stacks and collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for automation and machine learning.
• Partner with architects, product owners, and software engineers to drive new application implementations.
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across mobile and web full-stack technologies.
• Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Create proofs of concept and drive projects through production.

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; at least 7 years of software development experience; at least 5 years of experience in developing scalable web applications and architectural standards; at least 5 years of people management; at least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering; 3+ years experience with Amazon Web Services; 3+ years of experience with Core Banking platforms or related services and technologies.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are location-based. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. This role is eligible for performance-based incentives and may include cash bonuses or long-term incentives.
