Director, Program - Transitional Housing

This position oversees the management of a transitional family residence serving families with children, ensuring compliance with NYS OTDA, NYC DHS, and Win guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise multidisciplinary team including Social Service Supervisors, Housing Coordinators, Case Managers, and Administrative Assistants.
  • Coordinate services with Employment, Child Care, and Recreation staff to provide integrated support to residents.
  • Provide coaching, training, and staff development, including orientation for new staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Win's policies, including performance evaluations and staff performance concerns.
  • Model and promote Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Monitor documentation in CARES database and support staff in using EBP with clients.
  • Establish community linkages for services like medical, mental health, and substance abuse.
  • Monitor program effectiveness in housing, employment, and family stability outcomes.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure quality service.
  • Maintain a safe environment, oversee security and maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage expenditures, petty cash, and program cards in accordance with policies.
  • Participate in community organizations, serve as liaison, and represent Win at meetings and conferences.
  • Establish a Community Advisory Board and participate in staff hiring and other duties as needed.
Essential Functions
  • On-call 24/7.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and travel within NYC for meetings and training.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to Win's mission and values.
  • MPH, MSW, or MA in Health/Social Services.
  • At least 5 years in human services, including 3 in supervisory roles managing budgets and staff.
  • Knowledge of EBP, MI, TIC, and ability to manage boundaries and cultural reflexivity.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CARES and MS Office preferred; bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
