Director, Data Services & Collaboration
Walmart Data Ventures is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Data Services & Collaboration to lead the expansion, governance, and innovation of our Data Access & Services portfolio. This high-impact leadership role directly shapes how we empower our supplier ecosystem through secure, scalable, and innovative data-sharing solutions.
As the steward of key data products—including BI Connector, Cloud Data Sharing, Action APIs, and the Developer Portal—you will ensure these services enable world-class analytics, automation, and insights at scale.
We're looking for a leader with strong executive presence, capable of influencing cross-functional stakeholders and external partners. You should excel at translating complex technical architectures into compelling, business-relevant strategies.
What You'll Do
- Set the Vision for External Data Access: Define and evolve Walmart Data Ventures' strategy for sharing curated, compliant, and secure data beyond our core data lake to unlock innovation for suppliers and partners.
- Drive Data Platform Growth: Champion the adoption and modernization of data services, leveraging technologies and API-based delivery models.
- Enable Strategic Business Programs: Collaborate with internal teams to support initiatives such as WMC Data Bundling, DSD Transformation, and Health & Wellness analytics.
- Scale Strategic Partnerships: Identify and onboard vendors and platforms that enhance data delivery, governance, and accessibility for suppliers.
- Deliver Value Through “Sticky” Data Products: Increase supplier retention by enhancing the utility, integration depth, and irreplaceability of our data offerings.
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Mentor and grow a team of four experienced Product Managers, guiding strategy, execution, and delivery in alignment with business value.
- Evangelize Data Services: Represent Walmart's data capabilities internally and externally with authority and clarity—bridging technical depth with business storytelling.
What We're Looking For
- Executive Presence: Comfortable leading in high-stakes settings, influencing senior leadership, and representing Walmart in external forums.
- Data Product Expertise: Proven experience managing enterprise data services and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud-native data pipelines.
- Business-Technical Translation: Ability to communicate technical architectures, compliance concerns, and data strategies in language that resonates with business users.
- Strategic Thinker & Operator: Demonstrated success in crafting long-term roadmaps and operationalizing them in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Skilled at working across product, engineering, compliance, data governance, and external partner teams.
- People Leadership: Experience coaching and scaling high-performing product teams with empathy, rigor, and vision.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities, covering high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and certificates. Location options include Hoboken, NJ, with an annual salary range of $156,000 - $312,000, and Bentonville, AR, with a range of $130,000 - $260,000. Additional compensation includes bonuses and stock options.

- Option 2: 13 years' experience in product management or related area.

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 10 years' experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
- Supervisory experience.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
