Position Summary:

The Director of Preconstruction will establish standards and procedures and have overall responsibility for the execution, training, and staffing of the estimating department.

The Director of Preconstruction will be responsible for driving the company's growth by leading and executing strategic planning, direction, and the achievement of new business-related activities. The Director will work closely with the executive leadership team and business unit leaders to develop proposals and presentations to win new business. The Director will establish and maintain

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote the companies' Safety Policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the development and implementation of estimating strategies and plans aligned with corporate and divisional goals.
  • Oversee the estimating department to ensure adherence to company standards, resources, and strategic direction.
  • Coordinate and support the proposal process, including writing, editing, and production, in collaboration with estimating, project management, and senior leadership.
  • Review contract documents and support the selection of qualified teaming partners.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive estimating and costing database, including historical costs, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities within existing business units.
  • Lead project development from concept through contract execution and turnover to operational teams.
  • Maintain alignment with Corporate Strategic and Operational Plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with customers, teaming partners, engineers, general contractors, and joint-venture partners.
  • Monitor and review project progress post-award to support customer satisfaction and project success.
  • Educate business partners on company capabilities, expertise, and delivery methods.
  • Participate in the development and execution of business development strategies, particularly those related to estimating.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are allocated for strategic bids.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities to support company-wide strategic initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of the Estimating Manager and indirect oversight of the estimating team (10+ employees).

Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
  • 15 Years of construction and diverse business generation experience.
  • In-depth understanding of construction scope and processes.
  • Proficient in project execution and company operations.
  • Experienced in the preparation of win plans, pre-positioning, targeting, pursuit, and capture of strategic prospects.
  • Capable of selling Company value proposition, execution approach, and commercial positions to customers through knowledge and authenticity.
  • Demonstrated drive and passion in pursuing new work, advocating internally for prospects.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in developing innovative solutions and connecting disparate information.
  • Able to advocate for deals both internally and externally with commercial and contractual/legal knowledge to explore options and solutions while providing articulate and concise descriptions of associated risks and benefits.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Meet pre-employment requirements.
