The role looks like this:

Program Management Director responsible for the successful proposal, startup and execution of Phase 1A. Duties are inclusive of design, development build, delivery, launch, and operations of 12 LM400 space vehicles, leveraging lessons learned from Block 0 along the way, and partnering across the enterprise to deliver on-time and within cost. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

  • Demonstrated full spectrum leadership capabilities and performance, program management experience, customer familiarity
  • Prior program management experience with demonstrated ability to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives
  • Experience as a CAM (Control Account Management) or with EVM (earned value management) principles
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US TS/SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

  • Current LM Space Program Management experience
  • Experience with multiple USG customers is a plus
  • Previous experience managing a large program and/or portfolio in excess of $50M
  • Experience interfacing with company executives, customers and external agencies
  • Experience with integrated planning or equivalent
  • Experience with Mission Class B/C spacecraft
  • Experience with high rate production programs
  • Completion of Program Management Development Program, Program Management Institute, or equivalent certification
  • Experience as a leader of leaders
  • Experience with risk and opportunity management

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
