Overview
Director, Operations at Breakthru Beverage Group leads Warehousing and Distribution operations. Provides effective leadership, fosters a positive team environment, and directs, coordinates, and evaluates the department to accomplish business objectives related to the company's logistics requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions, and recommending objectives.
- Direct process and continuous improvement efforts in quality, customer service, safety, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions, controlling costs, and maximizing asset utilization.
- Provide oversight for all operations-related activities, including receiving, conveying/sortation, loading, delivery, facility management, fleet maintenance, sanitation, inventory control, and returns management.
- Direct facility and system maintenance activities such as inspection, repair, capital improvements, and new layout designs.
- Oversee the company security program in collaboration with operations staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Warehousing or Distribution.
- Advanced PC skills including MS Office and other software (e.g., presentation software).
- Results-oriented professional with strong verbal and written communication, diplomacy, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently or in a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and reporting skills; sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of distribution routing software (preferably Roadnet).
- Experience managing a union environment.
- Experience with conveyor/sortation equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly capable of standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to operate a computer and telephone.
Competencies
- People management responsibilities for pay reviews, performance management, training, and resource planning.
- Requires conceptual thinking to understand complex issues with incomplete information.
