Job Description

The Director of Operations will oversee the project management team, learning/development programs, and clinical operations in our Surgery/Procedure Center, Cath Labs, Inpatient Unit, and Emergency Department at Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads an Operations group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
  • Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of service contracts to develop strategies of standardization and cost savings; analyzes material costs and offers cost-saving solutions to Corporate Procurement.
  • Identifies appropriate equipment/supply inventory levels; establishes par levels and oversees processes to ensure timely maintenance.
  • Develops, implements and oversees warehousing and receiving logistics processes (loading dock, mailroom, storage areas) and oversees parking and valet services.
  • Functions as end-user interface for physicians, administrative and support personnel to address operational concerns.
  • Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives, and budgets; reports operational performance, justifications, and corrective actions.
  • Participates in new construction projects related to operational issues; develops and implements programs to enhance patient and employee satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains productive inter/intra departmental relationships to optimize materials management operations.
  • Manages and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, and management of indirect reports.
  • Oversees compliance with government and agency regulations.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership/management experience.
    • Prior surgical/procedural operations or peri-operative experience preferred.
