Summary Of Job Duties

The Event Management Coordinator will serve a critical role in managing all assigned regular and post-season athletic events. Management includes coordination, communication, implementation and on-site management for each event. This position will also assist with game operations in Football as assigned. In addition, the Event Management Coordinator is responsible for completing and submitting all post-season bid materials (SEC, NCAA) in those sports, and completing the post-event financial reconciliation reports. They will also assist with other on-campus NCAA/SEC Championships as assigned by the Sr. Director of Event Management. The Event Management Coordinator will work with outside constituents on campus and within the community to coordinate event services. This position will also assist the Manager of External Events by supporting various external events held within athletic facilities. A commitment to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Southeastern Conference and the University of Arkansas is of critical importance.

A commitment to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Southeastern Conference and the University of Arkansas is essential. This position will report to the Senior Director of Event Management.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in area of sports management, event operations or related field

  • At least one year of experience working in collegiate athletic event management at any level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in Sports Management or related field

  • One year or more of Div. I athletic event management experience

  • Experience in delivering a high level of customer service

  • Experience with developing and implementing policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with Division I intercollegiate athletics administration

  • Knowledge of university policies, NCAA regulations

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interpret, develop and maintain an operational budget

  • Ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks and supervise others

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for events
