About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Underwriting to lead our E&S P&C portfolio, primarily focusing on binding authority business. In this critical role, you will shape underwriting strategies, drive profitable growth, and build strong relationships with our carrier partners. You will work closely with teams across distribution, product, engineering, and data to assess performance, refine underwriting guidelines, and harness digital tools and models for optimization.

Your strategic vision will directly contribute to enhancing carrier partnerships and expanding our underwriting appetite through innovation. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in E&S commercial underwriting, particularly in binding authority or program business, along with a robust understanding of small to mid-market GL, property, and excess casualty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive underwriting strategies.
• Monitor data and performance trends to identify opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance models and platform functionality.
• Champion new product launches and ensure consistent application of underwriting procedures.

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%.
