The Director of Student Engagement, Leadership & Service is responsible for fosteringessential social relationships, cultivating community, and developing leadership skillsthrough involvement with Trine Student Government, various student organizations,and service opportunities in the Trine community. The Director of Student Engagement,Leadership & Service reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs / Dean of Students.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Student Engagement, Leadership & Service will possess exceptional customer service and organizational abilities, enabling them to expertly handle multiple projects and cultivate productive relationshipswith both students and colleagues. This role demands adaptability in scheduling, which may involve some evening and weekend hours. We value an enthusiastic outlook, excellent communication skills, a professionally positive social media presence, and strong interpersonal aptitude. The Director of Student Engagement, Leadership & Service has the responsibility toperform the following:

  • Plan, implement, and coordinate all Orientation programming including SOAR, SpringOrientation, and Fall Orientation
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervision of the SOAR and Orientation Leaderstudent team
  • Manage the logistics of organizing and facilitating move-in and check-in dates forfall semester.
  • Serve as advisor for Greek Life, Student Government, and National Society of Leadership& Success
  • Oversee the Student Government budget allocation spending process in partnership withthe Student Government Treasurer.
  • Maintain all registered student organization records and collect all necessary updateseach semester
  • Manage student organization fundraising events and on-campus tabling approvals
  • Assist with managing the details of the Campus Activities Website (Presence), includingthe organizational management, assigning administrative access to staff/student leaders,and updating activities/events in conjunction with the Assistant Director of StudentEngagement.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of university service activities, communityengagement activities, on-going service initiatives with Education One and other variousevents that connect Trine student life with the local communities.
  • Oversee the Student SERVE program.
  • Update and maintain the Student Government tab of MyPortal.
  • Serve on campus committees.
  • Supervise the Assistant Director of Student Engagement.
  • Maintain the budget lines pertaining to student engagement and leadership, includingbut not limited to purchasing, negotiating contracts and other accounting responsibilities.
  • Manage department marketing materials as content manager for BrightSign digital displayboards
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
Qualifications/Required Education

Must possess a valid driver's license, have experience and skill working with computers—preferredexperience in software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jenzabar/EX, Slate.Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listedbelow are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent higher education experience andtraining required.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.

Salary is competitivewill be based on qualifications.
