Job Description
As the Director of Software Engineering for our AI/ML platform, you will oversee the design and development of a robust, scalable, and high-performance AI/ML platform. You will manage a team of engineers and AI specialists, fostering innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborating with product management and cross-functional teams, you will define product vision, roadmaps, and deliverables for AI-driven features. You will promote best practices in software engineering, MLOps, and data governance, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of AI/ML projects, from conception to deployment and maintenance, and communicate technical solutions effectively across the organization. Additionally, you will manage budgets, resources, and report progress to executive leadership, playing a key role in maintaining industry leadership in AI/ML technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a scalable, high-performance AI/ML platform.
- Lead and grow a team of engineers and AI specialists.
- Define product vision, roadmaps, and deliverables for AI features.
- Implement best practices in software engineering, MLOps, and data governance.
- Stay updated on emerging AI/ML trends and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
- Manage the lifecycle of AI/ML projects from ideation to deployment.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively at all organizational levels.
- Manage budgets and resources, and report to leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
- MS or PhD in a STEM field with 10+ years of experience in AI/ML platform management.
- Expertise in software engineering, AI/ML, MLOps, and data governance.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to influence complex organizations and deliver value at scale.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures.
- Strong background in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of search/ranking, recommender systems, RAG, graph techniques.
- Understanding of LLM techniques, including agents, reasoning, and planning.
- Experience training and fine-tuning LLMs and embedding models, with a focus on LLM Ops and AIOps.
