Overview The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Director of Security to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. The Director of Security will be responsible for responsible for overseeing the property's security operations while working with all departments to promote a safe environment Responsibilities
- Review daily activity reports to detect unusual activity, identify trends, and correct hazardous discrepancies
- Promote a safe working environment including OSHA mandated standards. Ensure compliance and training mandates in accordance to state law and corporate policies
- Manage the property's emergency preparedness programs while educating colleagues on procedures, implementing evacuation drills, regular checks of life/safety equipment, and continuous updates of plans and manuals
- Maintain all administrative facets of the security technology systems including video management, electronic access control, key control, and reporting platforms
- Serve as a liaison between the hotel and various law enforcement agencies
- Oversee criminal and civil investigations and lead initiatives to pursue restitution when applicable. Supervise and review internal investigations. Train department colleagues on investigative techniques and incident reporting practices.
- Represent the Post Oak Security Department in various meetings with both internal colleagues and external guests and clients
- Write, create, and implement policies and SOP's for the property ensuring all practices are kept up to date
- Train, coach and mentor supervisors and managers at all levels. Assist new managers in understanding security and operational responsibilities. Routinely monitor new manager's progress with regards to their security responsibilities.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree obtained from an accredited institution, Master's Degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a Law Enforcement Officer and/or a Hotel Security Manager/Director is mandatory
- Must obtain a CPR certification, as well as a state issued Private Security Officer Level II License within 30 days of hire date
- Must achieve CLSO designation within 6 months of hire date
- Knowledge and understanding of state laws and municipal ordinances
- Proficient in various software operating systems including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other security platforms
- Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
- Physical demands:
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to ascent multiple stairwell levels at an expedite pace in emergency instances
