Position Summary Information
Objective
Directs the residence hall operations in all of the College-owned residence halls and apartments.
Required Quals Summary
Bachelor's degree and five years of direct supervisory experience of employee daily work duties.2-4 years of college student services experience and/or training in housing programs.

Assist with the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the department's strategic plan, mission, and goals.

Supervises the administration of the Housing Office in the absence of the Director of Housing.

Assists with and provides leadership to the Residential Life daily operations and opening/closing of housing for each semester and holiday closing.

Assist the Director of Housing with the management of overall budget and assist with advisement on revenue projections, monitor expenses.

Take leadership on all renovations, building projects and other facilities work that occurs within Blinn College Housing. This includes the planning, decision-making, and evaluating the impact on the residential students during and after the project. Ensure maintenance issues in the area are brought to the attention of the appropriate personnel. Oversee the prompt resolutions of maintenance related issues.

Take leadership on all purchasing and vendor relations including the planning, decision-making, and evaluation of processes from inception to completion (e.g., requisitions, purchase requests, invoice processing, etc).

Act as a collaborator for the Blinn College Housing Department regarding internal and external constituents to effect positive communication with all constituents.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of direct supervisory experience of employee daily work duties.
2-4 years of college student services experience and/or training in housing programs
Ability to take leadership, make decisions and evaluate processes, procedures, projects, etc. as they pertain to this positions essential duties.
Demonstrates leadership abilities and organizational skills with the ability to train and lead staff.
Excellent public relation skills: friendly, outgoing, courteous, pleasant personality.
Excellent English language skills, both oral and written, as well as strong proofreading skills.
Must be able to work independently, respect confidentiality, and maintain courtesy in dealing with students, parents, administration, staff, and visitors.
Ability to relate to an ethnically diverse college community.
Advanced knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other software programs.
