Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Research & Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in leading innovation and driving product development from concept to commercialization in alignment with consumer and market insights.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain—to deliver high-performance consumer products in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product development, ensuring speed, technical excellence, and manufacturability.
- Partner with Marketing to translate innovation concepts into viable, high-performing products.
- Oversee R&D operations, streamline processes, and manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Ensure all products meet licensor (P&G) standards, regulatory compliance, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Stay ahead of CPG industry trends and emerging technologies to drive technical innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in: Product formulation, R&D process management, CPG product lifecycle, cross-functional collaboration.
- Relevant certifications: None required, but scientific credentials or regulatory training is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
- 10+ years of experience in CPG Research & Development, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with: Fabric care, household cleaning products, licensed brand collaboration, contract manufacturing.
- Familiarity with stage-gate innovation processes and cross-functional project planning.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Prior experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments within the consumer products industry.
