About the Role
A global leader in the personal care and hospitality manufacturing space is seeking a Director of Global Quality Operations to spearhead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of quality systems across internal facilities and external partners worldwide. This executive role is central to developing a world-class quality function that aligns with international regulatory standards, strengthens supplier performance, and champions a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and drive the global roadmap for quality assurance and control across production, packaging, and distribution channels.
- Align the quality function with the organization's growth plans, regulatory shifts, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Lead, inspire, and grow a global team of quality professionals, including engineers, microbiologists, and compliance experts.
Operational Oversight
- Implement and optimize an end-to-end Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO, GMP, FDA, and other relevant international standards.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at standardizing product specifications, testing procedures, risk controls, and corrective actions.
- Ensure global audit readiness and regulatory compliance through proactive monitoring and continuous internal review processes.
Supplier & Manufacturing Quality
- Manage qualification and performance programs for global suppliers and third-party manufacturers.
- Collaborate with sourcing, R&D, and operations teams to ensure suppliers consistently meet product and process standards.
- Oversee contract manufacturing quality performance across regions including Asia, Europe, and North America.
Customer-Centric Compliance
- Lead the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and quality feedback.
- Ensure all products meet regulatory, safety, and labeling requirements across global markets.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of changes in global regulations and ensure timely adaptation within the organization.
Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor quality KPIs, driving cross-functional improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
- Integrate digital tools and automation for improved visibility, predictive analytics, and real-time quality control.
- Embed a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous enhancement of systems and practices.
Change & Culture
- Act as a key driver of change to build a strong quality-first mindset across business functions.
- Mentor global team members and create clear pathways for talent development and succession planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on product safety, regulatory risks, and operational integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
- 15+ years in progressive quality leadership roles within highly regulated industries such as cosmetics, pharma, personal care, or consumer products.
- Proven success in building and managing global quality systems across vertically integrated and contract manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of ISO standards, GMP practices, and regulatory bodies including FDA, EPA, and international equivalents.
- Experience leading audits, driving CAPAs, managing quality documentation, and navigating complex compliance frameworks.
