Summary: This position will take ownership of quality improvement initiatives at all Stellar Industries, Inc locations. Has ownership of the overall design of the Quality Plan for the company. Will work with managers, process owners and supervisors to develop, catalog, and maintain all parts of the quality management system.

Monitors and advises on how the system is performing, which may often include the publication of statistics regarding company performance against set established measures.

A key role is ensuring that customer requirements and expectations are accurately identified and consistently met by the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with managers and staff, particularly in areas such as design, production and supply chain to formulate, agree upon and enforce comprehensive quality procedures.

• Responsible for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.

• Work closely with the supply chain on the process of first article inspection for purchased parts coming onto company property.

• Work with other departments to deploy quality bulletins, procedures, and manuals.

• Compare product specifications against customer requirements as needed.

• Ensure compliance with national and international standards where needed.

• Consider application of environmental, health, and safety standards where applicable.

• Act as key contact with customers' auditors

• Provide clear direction to fellow employees.

• Author performance reports as needed.

• Develop and supervise a program of internal quality auditing.

• Develop and supervise a program of continual improvement covering products and services.

• Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality through work with responsible internal and external parties.

• Maintain active role in internal continuous improvement teams.

• Forecast employee and equipment needs for capital expenditures.

• Act as a positive role model for all co-workers

• Promote a productive and non-disruptive work ethic within the company.

• Continuously promotes and fosters a culture of working safety.

• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• ERP Systems experience preferred.

• Should be familiar with the automotive industry and truck up fitting.

• Lean experience desired, but not required

Skills Required:

• Computer Proficient with the ability to work fluently with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of statistics is required with general numeracy, coupled with good interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

• B.S. degree Scientific or Mathematical discipline.

• Equivalent experience/education combination will be considered.

• A minimum of 10 years related experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the job duties, the employee may be required to stand, walk and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

• The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.

• Employee may be required to work indoors in a shop environment and also outside in all weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:

• Company sponsored continuing education may be required.

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
