Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $168,000.00/yr

Job Title: Director of QualityJob Description:Trystar is a leader in power distribution equipment and related services at the heart of supporting our electrical infrastructure. Based in our state-of-the-art headquarters in Faribault, MN, s afety and integrity are ou r guiding principles, and we work together to achieve excellence for our customers every day.Trystar's team members are our most important asset, the Director of Quality will be responsible for managing department resources, coordinating the further development, implementation & improvement of our enterprise-wide quality management system, and cost-effectively facilitate product/process quality and compliance. Interacts routinely with all functional areas as well as with customers, field sales, regulatory agencies, leadership, and suppliers.We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

In this role you will get to:
  • Demonstrate Trystar's guiding principles and values.
  • Define, Develop, implement and improve Trystar's Quality Management Systems functions, including Documentation Management, Engineering Change Control, Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions, Non-conforming Materials, Customer Compliant Handling, Calibration, Internal Auditing, Quality Training, and Supplier Quality Management.
  • Provide oversight of enterprise-wide Quality functions including Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, & Quality Control & product regulation & agency certifications. Ensure a comprehensive completion of risk management, process quality control plans, and incoming quality/outgoing quality, process quality, process validations, as well as test method validation. Acting as the management representative with responsibility/authority to ensure quality system requirements are effectively established and maintained.
  • Champion & drive a culture of continuous improvement ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance to agency certifications and achieving factory & business objectives.
  • Interfaces with customers on technical/quality issues and improvement initiatives
  • Assures all Trystar products released to the market meet specification and agency requirements for their intended market/customer.
  • Actively participating on our Extended Leadership Team. Taking initiative to proactively create cross-functional collaboration and engagement to effectively implement programs and processes in support of meeting our business plans and objectives.
  • Report progress on quality issues and improvement programs to Customers & business leadership as required. Maintain contact with customers to ensure their business needs are met or exceeded.
  • Be responsible for conducting management reviews and generating and maintaining site quality system and product quality metrics / KPIs.
  • Manage Quality team(s) by providing coaching, development, planning, mentoring, etc. Establish measurable employee goals and perform appraisal through performance reviews.
  • Owns field warranty resolution, containment and corrective action. Lead 8D problem solving and present to the customer.
  • Manage supplier claims related to supplier quality defects. Track Supplier PPM and supplier management.
  • Lead Supplier Quality and Supplier Development at group level.
  • Owns ISO certifications for all plants and lead internal and external audits.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, operations management, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quality management/quality engineering role with proven knowledge and use of quality tools & processes
  • Experience developing, implementing, improve quality management system within a manufacturing organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer focus
  • Experience using RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) problem solving techniques
  • Experience leading site level Six Sigma/Lean/Quality Improvement projects
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certified – Blackbelt a plus
  • Strong leadership, team, and people management skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and create excellent collaboration
  • Change management experience of programs with significant strategic importance
  • Ability to lead internal/external audits activities
  • Demonstrated skills in customer experience management
  • Bi-lingual English / Spanish language capability a plus
