Job Description
The Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS) is a network of clinical and community-based providers working together across the 13-county Finger Lakes region to transform healthcare delivery, advance system transformation, close gaps in care, and support high-risk individuals and populations. FLPPS and its affiliated health home, the Greater Rochester Health Home Network (GRHHN), support providers in integrated healthcare delivery system optimization, care management, network and program management, population health and data analytics, and learning and development. Additionally, FLPPS is a designated New York State Workforce Investment Organization (WIO) working with training and educational institutions, health systems, other providers, and Social Care Networks to strengthen the healthcare workforce.
Position Summary
The Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the Project Management Office (PMO) and driving organizational excellence through effective project management and performance management practices. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of key projects that align with the organization's strategic objectives. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence. This position is funded by New York State through the Career Pathways Training Grant; continued employment depends on ongoing grant funding, anticipated to continue through at least March 2027.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement the PMO strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to the PMO team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring standards and deliverables are met.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure project success and organizational performance.
- Implement best practices, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, budgets, and equipment.
- Ensure optimal resource allocation to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership on contracting, reporting, and compliance.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively.
- Provide training and development for PMO staff.
- Promote a learning and growth culture within the team.
- Ensure project compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Implement governance frameworks for effective project management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 5-7 years' leadership experience in performance management, measurement, and improvement.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Proven success in strategy execution.
- Experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Understanding of healthcare initiatives, programs, and regulations.
- Experience with workplans, budgets, and performance/financial reporting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
