We're looking for an experienced agency leader to join us as Director of Project Management in this full-time, remote U.S.-based position. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our project management practice while working closely with our new Director of Client Services and Wide Eye leadership team to drive agency success. We're seeking someone who loves both big picture strategic thinking and diving deep into complex projects – someone who can build strong teams while also rolling up their sleeves to manage our most challenging work.

Position Overview

As Director of Project Management, you'll be a key member of Wide Eye's leadership team, helping shape how we deliver amazing work while fostering a culture where project managers can thrive. You'll lead our talented PM team, oversee our most complex projects, and help us constantly improve how we work. This role will directly report to the Senior Managing Director.

Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Vision
  • Lead Wide Eye's project management approach, creating practices that support our growth while maintaining quality.
  • Lead the evolution of our PM processes and tools.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing project management team that combines technical excellence with emotional intelligence.
  • Create frameworks that help our team stay ahead of challenges and deliver exceptional results.
  • Collaborate closely with the cohort of other team leads (Creative, Engineering, and Client Services) to manage company-wide capacity, solve project challenges, and contribute to team-wide best practices.
  • Lead and project manage select high-profile, complex projects yourself, setting the standard for project excellence.
  • Navigate tricky project situations with grace, finding creative solutions that work for everyone involved.
  • Proactively anticipate and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
  • Support your PM team with creating and managing detailed project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Work closely with our design and development teams to craft creative solutions for our clients' needs.
  • Oversee project financials and support and train PM team on effective budget management.
  • Work with the management team on effective resource planning to keep both clients and our team happy.
  • Provide guidance on and oversight of PM-led project kick-offs to start strong and retrospectives that help us continuously improve.
  • Guide quality assurance and testing processes across projects in coordination with PMs.
  • Track post-launch successes to apply learnings to future projects.
Team Development & Operations
  • Build a collaborative, supportive project management team culture.
  • Create clear paths for growth and learning within the PM team.
  • Help forecast team capacity and plan resources across projects.
  • Establish and evolve our PM best practices and training programs.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued.
  • Mentor team members in both technical skills and client relationship management.
  • Create sustainable and scalable project management processes that will adapt agency growth.
Business & Agency Growth
  • Partner with our business development team on project scoping and estimating.
  • Help identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
  • Contribute your expertise to pitch processes and new business opportunities.
  • Work with agency leadership to evolve our services and how we deliver them.
  • Support agency-wide initiatives to improve how we work.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3-4 years in leadership roles guiding project managers or delivery teams within an agency.
  • Strong track record managing complex digital projects, particularly websites and creative campaigns.
  • Experience building and leading teams in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Deep understanding of project budgets, timelines, and resource management.
  • Excellence in communication and relationship building.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships while driving results.
  • Experience working with mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong technical understanding of digital platforms, particularly WordPress and related technologies.
  • Deep comfort with PM and creative agency tools like Asana, Harvest, Airtable, Google Drive, Figma, and Bugherd.
  • Demonstrated success maintaining and growing client relationships.
  • Experience managing and implementing content strategy and UX best practices.
