Position Type: Administration/Director Date Posted: 6/17/2025 Location: Milton School District - Central Office Director of Professional Learning Milton School District | SAU 64 | Milton, NH FLSA Status: ExemptPosition Purpose The Milton School District is seeking an adaptive and visionary Director of Professional Learning to lead the district's curriculum, instruction, and professional learning initiatives. This position is central to preparing our schools for the implementation of New Hampshire's revised ED 306 Minimum Standards for Public School Approval, set to take effect in the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the revised standards, particularly their emphasis on competency-based education, flexible learning pathways, and student-centered instructional design. As Milton launches i-Ready Math (K-8) and i-Ready Reading (6-8) in the upcoming school year, the Director of Professional Learning will play a lead role in the successful implementation, training, and ongoing support of these programs. This role requires a forward-thinking educator who is passionate about building equitable, high-quality learning experiences that align with evolving educational mandates and community expectations. Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the district's curriculum development, implementation, and revision cycles to ensure alignment with local goals, national benchmarks, and the revised New Hampshire ED 306 standards.
- Design and coordinate a district-wide professional development program focused on instructional best practices, assessment literacy, data use, and teacher leadership.
- Oversee the effective rollout and ongoing integration of i-Ready Math (K-8) and i-Ready Reading (6-8), including staff training, implementation fidelity, and instructional use of data.
- Support the development of competency-based learning models and flexible learning pathways, ensuring students have access to personalized and authentic learning experiences.
- Interpret student achievement data and program evaluation results to guide instructional decision-making and promote continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with school leaders, instructional staff, and service providers to support inclusive practices and curriculum access for all students, including those with disabilities and English learners.
- Lead curriculum review committees and support the adoption of high-quality instructional materials and resources.
- Serve as the district facilitator for new educator support programs, including orientation, mentoring, and teacher induction.
- Oversee the development and submission of state and federal grants related to instructional improvement and professional development.
- Communicate curriculum vision, initiatives, and progress to the school board, families, and broader community.

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid New Hampshire certification as a Curriculum Administrator.
- Master's degree (required) in curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related field; advanced coursework or doctorate preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the NH ED 306 revisions and proven ability to lead systems change aligned with regulatory and instructional shifts.
- Experience supporting i-Ready program implementation or similar data-driven instructional tools.
- Strong background in competency-based education, personalized learning models, and cross-curricular instructional design.
- Prior experience coordinating professional development and mentoring new educators.
- Deep understanding of curriculum equity, differentiation, and culturally responsive instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
