Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence in restoration and construction? Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Production to oversee and elevate their production departments—including emergency response, mitigation, remediation, and reconstruction.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all phases of production. You'll lead a team of managers and support the organization's growth through process improvements, talent development, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a dynamic team, including the Operations Manager, Estimating Manager, Mitigation Manager, and Team Coordinator Manager.
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective job execution.
- Set performance expectations and maintain accountability through KPIs, regular feedback, and hands-on leadership.
- Manage job scheduling, resource allocation, project tracking, and client communications.
- Develop and refine SOPs to maximize productivity and service delivery.
- Collaborate with estimating and finance to manage job costing, change orders, and subcontractor invoicing.
- Foster strong interdepartmental collaboration and resolve staffing or operational challenges.
- Analyze workflows and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Track and report on production metrics including job cycle time, gross margin, crew utilization, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a key escalation point for customer concerns during active jobs.
- Partner with internal teams, adjusters, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training to build a high-performing production team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
- 5–7+ years of leadership experience in production, operations, or project management—preferably in restoration or construction.
- Proven track record managing multi-functional teams and departments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project budgeting, KPI tracking, and operational reporting.
- Proficient in industry software, scheduling systems, and production tools.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications
- IICRC: WRT, ASD, AMRT
- OSHA 10/30
- General Contractor License or knowledge of local building codes (a plus)
