We are supporting an expanding IPP that is seeking an experienced Procurement Director to lead procurement efforts for utility-scale power projects (Solar, BESS, RNG) within a fast-growing organization focused on energy infrastructure development, community economic advancement, environmental stewardship, and ethical business growth. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic supplier relationships and drive procurement excellence in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with major equipment suppliers and EPC contractors
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements and preferential supplier arrangements to secure reliable volume and competitive pricing
- Lead competitive bid processes for equipment and construction, including RFPs, bid evaluations, contract awards, and negotiations
- Create standardized technical specifications in collaboration with internal and external experts
- Implement third-party quality assurance, surveillance, and control programs
- Manage purchase order administration pre- and post-NTP, including:
- Invoice approvals
- QA/QC oversight
- Logistics and transportation
- Storage and warranty administration
- Enforcement of commercial terms
- Partner with Engineering and Construction leadership to optimize project economics and streamline procurement processes
- Resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, and defective products professionally and efficiently
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the utility power industry
- At least 5 years of direct procurement experience
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and energetic with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
- Deep understanding of procurement and construction processes, including:
- Technology and equipment
- PO/contract negotiations
- Engineering and estimating
- Scheduling and QA/QC
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%)
