Director of Procurement- Energy

The Newell Group has been engaged to locate a Director of Procurement- Energy for a great client in the Western Philadelphia Area. This $multi-billion, 100+ year old company has a strong reputation for the design and manufacture of high-quality products.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with energy, a winner attitude and a Go and Get It mentality to be the Subject Matter Expert for the Company.

Onsite/Hybrid role in Western Philadelphia market

In this role, reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Energy Purchasing/Portfolio Management for North America, notably Energy, Solar, Wind, Utilities, Electricity, ETC, including emerging energies and technologies.
  • Coordination of all energy related topics with internal purchasing staff and external service providers
  • Acts as main internal point of contact and decision maker for all energy topics
  • Will maintain an up to date database of Energy related agreements
  • Responsible for managing hedging portfolio
  • Ensure continuity of supply thru Supplier strategy
  • Create and present reports to all levels of management
  • Will lead all commercial aspects of Green Energy contracts
  • Develop and Implement the purchasing process and contract structure for gas and electricity contract

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • 4 year Engineering or Business degree required, preferably in Purchasing or Energy, MBA Preferred
  • Certified Energy Procurement Certification
  • Minimum 6 to 10+ years' experience Purchasing of Energy or Energy Sales
  • In depth knowledge of Energy Markets, Sources and Industry
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing strategy and plan execution
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and strategies simultaneously
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization and communication skill
  • Leadership presence and ability to influence others thru positive interactions
  • 6+ years in a leadership positions managing direct reports
