Overview:
We're supporting our client who is seeking a hands-on, experienced Director of Pricing. We're looking for a highly analytical and strategic Director of Pricing to lead our pricing initiatives and drive profitable growth.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's overall pricing strategy for its extensive portfolio of products & services. This individual will lead the pricing function, ensuring that pricing strategies align with business objectives, maximize profitability, maintain market competitiveness, and support sales growth in distinct yet related markets.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and Implement Pricing Strategies: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive pricing strategies, policies, and processes across all product lines, that effectively respond to external cost pressures, including Tariff Volatility, ensuring margin preservation and competitive market positioning
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Continuously monitor and analyze market trends, competitor pricing, customer behavior, and economic factors within the market to identify opportunities and risks related to pricing.
- Price Optimization (Segment-Specific): Develop and implement pricing models and tools to optimize pricing decisions, considering factors such as cost, value, demand elasticity, and competitive landscape.
- Pricing Execution and Governance (Across Markets): Ensure consistent and effective execution of pricing strategies across all sales channels and customer segments. Establish and maintain pricing governance processes and controls that address the complexities of the markets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration (Segmented Teams): Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance teams to align pricing strategies with product roadmaps, marketing campaigns, sales targets, and financial goals.
- Price Setting and Maintenance (By Sector): Oversee the development and maintenance of price lists, discount structures, and promotional pricing activities tailored to the nuances of their industry and sectors they operate in. Ensure accuracy and timely updates of pricing information.
- Pricing Analytics and Reporting (Comparative Analysis): Develop and track key pricing metrics and KPIs. Generate regular reports and analyses on pricing performance, identifying areas for improvement within each and providing comparative insights into senior management.
- Pricing Technology and Tools (Integrated Solutions): Evaluate, implement, and manage pricing software and tools that effectively handle pricing complexities.
- Customer and Channel Pricing (Market-Specific Approaches): Develop and manage pricing strategies tailored to different customer segments and distribution channels, considering each segment's specific needs and dynamics.
- Cost Analysis and Margin Management (By Product Line): Collaborate closely with Finance and Product Management to understand the cost structures for products, ensuring pricing strategies support healthy profit margins in each.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in pricing, with a significant portion of that experience in closely related industrial B2B sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies that have driven revenue growth and profitability.
- Experience managing pricing against tariff-driven cost fluctuations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using pricing software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI). Experience with tools that can handle multi-market pricing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of pricing principles, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in the distinct contexts of their industry.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across different departments and levels of the organization, including teams focused on specific market segments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team.
Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 annually, with a Potential Bonus up to 20% of the Annual Base.
