Job Description :

Feast & Fettle is seeking a Director of People Operations to join our People team.

This is an in-person role based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island or Elkridge, Maryland.

Workweek + Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday.

What is Feast & Fettle?

What began in 2016 as a private chef's side hustle is now the East Coast's most trusted outsourced dinner company, serving thousands of households with a mission that's both simple and personal: to nourish everyday life. That mission lives in the details—from how we source ingredients and plan each week's menu to the care in every delivery and the trust we build at our Members' tables and in their communities.

Working at Feast & Fettle is momentum filled, energizing and fast paced for the right fit. We move with urgency, obsess over the right details, and bring care to everything we touch. We are the fastest-growing meal delivery service on the East Coast—and that momentum comes from a team of smart, kind people who show up to build with an eye on long term value creation for customers and employees.

We care for our people the same way we care for our Members—with consistency, thoughtfulness, and a constant drive to raise the standard. We invest in our team because we know: when you're supported, you do your best work—and help us do ours.

What you'll do

As Director of People Operations, you'll play a key role in shaping the employee experience at Feast & Fettle. You'll bring operational clarity, care, and a values-driven approach—curating what works, improving what doesn't, and building systems that balance accountability with care.

The mandate of our People team, and all leaders at Feast & Fettle, is to maximize the value each individual can contribute to and receive from the company. You'll create systems that make expectations clear so employees can leave each day with a sense of accomplishment.

This role is deeply embedded in our operations. You'll work across kitchens, offices, and the field—learning processes firsthand before acting—to ensure our people systems are practical, supportive, and useful. We believe structure, when built with care, is a form of support, and that investing in our people is essential to our growth.

We also believe leadership should reflect the diversity of our employee base, from lived experiences to cultural perspectives, and we give preference to candidates who can genuinely connect with and fully represent our team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and scale People Operations systems that are clear, compliant, and human-centered.
  • Own hiring, retention, and collaboration strategies that reflect day-to-day realities.
  • Design strategies that improve retention, development, engagement, and daily lived experience for employees.
  • Develop training and growth pathways across all levels and languages.
  • Lead leadership development grounded in real-world operational needs.
  • Create self-service tools for employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning that empower individual contributors, supervisors, and managers.
  • Operationalize culture via programming—building community is a core part of the people team's work.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance structure—tech upgrades, process improvements, and org design.
  • Use AI and emerging tools to streamline systems.
  • Stay embedded in the business—learning by being present, not guessing from afar.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years leading People Operations or HR in food, hospitality, or operational environments.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a hospitality background.
  • Experience supporting large, diverse frontline teams—not just office-based staff.
  • Fluency in Spanish (required).
  • Experience implementing People systems that are practical, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Proficiency with HR tech, payroll, compliance, and performance tools.
  • High emotional intelligence and clear, thoughtful communication skills.
  • A builder's mindset—viewing structure as support, not surveillance.
  • Deep respect for equity, transparency, and meeting people in context.
  • Strong follow-through and a bias for meaningful execution.

We strongly encourage women, people of color, and individuals of diverse backgrounds to apply—even if you don't meet every qualification listed.

What you get

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, starting at $125,000/year.

Here, you'll find comprehensive benefits that make a difference in your daily well-being, along with a safe, welcoming, and energized workplace culture committed to providing the opportunity for every team member to thrive.

We provide medical, dental, and vision coverage (with 70% of your monthly premium paid by Feast & Fettle), flexible time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

All employees enjoy a free Feast & Fettle membership—$165 worth of our fully prepared menu items every week—plus paid parental leave, an annual $1,000 professional development benefit, and a monthly wellness reimbursement you can use for anything that supports your well-being, from gym memberships to therapy copays.
