Description:

The Director of Ministry and Evangelization is responsible for assisting the pastor with the overall ministry and evangelization efforts in the parish. The goal is to ensure that everyone in the parish encounters Jesus Christ and deepens their commitment to Him and His Church. The role includes supporting, accompanying, equipping, and leading lay leaders in discerning, designing, and implementing ministry and evangelization initiatives.

The Director develops, implements, evaluates, and continually improves these initiatives and may oversee other ministry staff.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills to identify, develop, and retain a well-functioning staff and volunteer teams essential for successful parish ministry.

Requirements:
  • Experience in a parish demonstrating the ability to engage parishioners and non-parishioners in evangelization and community building.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment and promote hospitality and welcome.
  • Proven collaboration skills with clergy, staff, parish leaders, and volunteers.
  • Experience directing staff and volunteers to develop key initiatives and programs.
  • Practicing Catholic who supports Catholic Church teachings, mission, and values.
  • Visionary leadership and expertise in evangelization.
  • Ability to form and nurture a community of missionary disciples through encounter, accompaniment, and sending forth.
  • Evidence of mature discipleship and the ability to witness to one's faith journey.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with communication and presentation technologies.
  • Openness to ongoing formation and education.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, faithful, joyful, persistent, dependable, and sensitive to cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity, with an openness to parish needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to change, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
