Job Summary
The Area Director of Operations leads a team of General Managers for corporate restaurant operations within an area of up to 5 restaurants, ensuring people development, product quality, customer satisfaction, image management, restaurant profitability, and integration into Papa John's culture. Responsibilities also include executing all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems, ensuring compliance with laws and ethical practices. The role involves management supervision, operational excellence, and fostering a positive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate exemplary managerial and operational skills, ensuring quality products and safe, efficient service; maintain compliance with policies; manage resources, training, and visits to restaurants; monitor market delivery sizes; stay current on operational changes; develop strong relationships with corporate departments; deploy new product training; provide quality customer service; build and maintain customer base; respond promptly to customer concerns; gather and utilize customer feedback to improve operations.
- Set the tone for a high-performing, positive, and quality-focused market by recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining top operations leaders; maintain staffing levels; conduct performance reviews; manage performance issues; coach and develop team members; establish development plans and succession planning.
- Identify new sales opportunities; create a vision for the market; implement marketing and developmental strategies; support market and company direction; monitor execution and adjust strategies as needed.
- Oversee financial goals through effective budget management; participate in marketing co-ops; analyze reports and key metrics; plan market strategies; lead real estate development efforts; analyze site needs; collaborate with corporate on site approval; maintain relationships with landlords; manage budgets.
Education, Experience & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Three to five years of progressive management experience required
- Three years in multi-unit management preferred
- Successful track record in management with Papa John's preferred
- ServSafe/State Food Service Certification preferred
- Travel required
