Role Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the daily oversight and strategic execution of operational functions at Lincoln Recovery, including Detoxification, Residential, and Therapeutic Programs. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant services by overseeing operations personnel, managing staffing needs, and maintaining adherence to state and federal regulations. The Director of Operations plays a key leadership role in fostering a high-performance culture, promoting continuous quality improvement, and maintaining a therapeutic environment for both clients and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the Operations department, with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee scheduling, supervision, performance evaluations, and professional development plans for the Operations Supervisors, Behavioral Health Technicians, Kitchen Manager, and Housekeeping Manager to ensure accountability, growth, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead staffing meetings, communicate organization updates, and ensure alignment with facility goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Maintain and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts, align staffing with client census and acuity, monitor overtime, and proactively adjust schedules to meet operational demands, regulatory staffing ratios, and unexpected absences.
- Maintain a flexible and responsive schedule to ensure continuous operational support, including availability to provide leadership coverage during staffing shortages, emergencies, or critical incidents when other coverage is unavailable.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, medical teams, and support departments to ensure smooth program operations and high-quality care.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and therapeutic for clients and staff.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor operational budgets, control expenses, and participate in strategic planning initiatives.
- Communicate professionally with families, referral sources, and external partners in compliance with HIPAA.
- Provide direct support to clients by managing crises, de-escalating situations, guiding staff in effective intervention strategies, and encouraging client engagement and participation in their recovery journey, especially during challenging moments.
- Comfortable transporting clients in a company vehicle while ensuring safety, professionalism, and adherence to all transportation policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergencies and initiates action as required.
- Attend, participate, and facilitate staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director to support overall facility operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a residential treatment facility, substance abuse program, or behavioral health setting, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges in client care and facility management.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Behavioral Health, or related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, particularly overseeing direct care staff, with the ability to manage, train, and evaluate teams effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other tools essential for communication, scheduling, data tracking, and operational efficiency.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support program operations and ensure consistent leadership presence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build rapport with both staff and clients.
- Preferred candidates should be able to work well within a team and independently, effective communication skills, time management, ability to problem solve, and strong professional boundaries.
- Preferred candidate must be sensitive to religious, ethnic, and cultural differences.
- Familiarly with AA, NA, and/or SMART Recovery.
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Behavioral Health, or a related field – or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably overseeing direct care staff, with demonstrated ability to manage, train, and evaluate team performance effectively.
- Valid Driver's License
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification or willing to obtain
- Must successfully complete Background Check, Drug Screen, and TB Test
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk for prolonged periods, and climb stairs.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to drive for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation:
- $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience
- Relocation assistance available
