The Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across multiple contract manufacturing sites in Indiana and Wisconsin. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is instrumental in scaling the company to achieve its ambitious growth objectives. Excellent Organization. Mission & Strategic Objectives

Company aims to be a trusted partner to its clients, integrating seamlessly into their operations to foster mutual growth and success. The Director of Operations is expected to:

  • Support and implement companywide vision, mission, and overall strategic direction at the operational level.
  • Support and build out Tier 1 manufacturing capabilities for clients. Support company strategic direction as one stop solution provider: first call, last call.
  • Prepare companies for growth including facility expansion and optimization.
  • Determine capital expenditure for machinery and equipment to support long term business plan.
  • Lead and manage advanced technology including automation, AI and manufacturing/machine innovation.
  • Oversee operational onboarding of new acquisitions, ensuring smooth integration into the organizational platform.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

Communication/KPI's

  • Develop a plan to ensure mid- to long-term goals are achieved.
  • Drive accountability down to shop floor level with a bias toward action and results.
  • Implement and optimize the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) process.
  • Facilitate company operational budgets and monthly results.
  • Determine and publish key performance indicators (KPIs) weekly and monthly.

Operational Excellence

  • Fully deploy ERP operational modules, including MRP, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Develop a 3-year capital/building plan to support the company's strategy, working with Presidents and teams to facilitate capital requirements, negotiation, and implementation.
  • Implement best-in-class manufacturing principles such as lean methodologies, single-piece flow, and continuous improvement (kaizen).
  • Collaborate with Quality Managers to create and implement a Total Quality Management strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment.

Talent Management & Leadership Development

  • Promote a climate of collaboration and respect of others. Support core values of each business.
  • Evaluate and assess all current leadership talent and positions through the supervision level by the end of 2025, leveraging the EOS process.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Must-Have
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.)
  • 10 years progressive manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to regularly travel (less than 20%)
  • Metals Fabrication/Industry Operations
  • Preferred
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree
  • 5 years in a senior-level operational role, including involvement in strategic planning.
  • Relationship oriented, & influential leadership style
  • Strong project management skills.
  • ERP implementation experience.
