About the Role
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, production planning, and transportation logistics. This is a critical leadership role that ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of products while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize all aspects of the supply chain including sourcing, procurement, inventory, production scheduling, warehousing, and distribution
- Oversee transportation strategy, including freight management, carrier negotiations, and delivery performance
- Partner closely with production, quality assurance, and sales to ensure alignment between operations and customer needs
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and service level improvements
- Develop and lead initiatives for process improvement, automation, and scalability across the supply chain
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards, cost control, and contract compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, food safety, and quality standards
- Build and mentor a high-performing team focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting processes in alignment with company goals
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and operations, preferably in the food or CPG manufacturing industry
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-site logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, demand planning tools, and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma a plus)
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred)
