TurningArt is seeking a strategic, systems-minded Director of Operations to lead our production and fulfillment engine into its next phase of scale. This role owns the end-to-end delivery process—from production and vendor management through installation and post-sale care—while building the team, technology, and operational frameworks that support sustainable growth.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex logistics challenges, motivating teams, and creating clarity from ambiguity. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure operations is not just a service department, but a strategic growth lever.
This role is based in Boston, MA at our headquarters office and reports to the President. Sponsorship is not currently available for this role, and offer is contingent upon candidate's receipt and maintenance of work authorization.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and continuously improve the delivery workflow from production through project completion for all projects across all TurningArt business units
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Art Advisors, Vendors, Business Partners, and Clients on order fulfillment across all TurningArt business units
- Help craft and ensure KPIs are met: on-time installs, budget adherence, minimal phase 2 rework, etc
- Implement systems to track logistics, costs, vendor performance, and delivery status
- Identify bottlenecks and design sustainable, scalable solutions
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate rates, and resolve fulfillment issues
- Drive accountability across your team with clear expectations and performance feedback
- Hire, train, and lead a team of Project Coordinators / Project Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, positivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Passionate for logistics, systems, and follow-through
- Confident managing people, processes, and priorities
- Calm under pressure, and approaches frequent challenges as opportunities for growth, and takes a solutions-oriented, fact-based approach to problem solving
- Skilled at direct, compassionate communication
- Able to hold a high bar for performance while motivating a team
- 5+ years in operations, logistics, or fulfillment roles
- 2+ years managing people and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with scheduling, workflow, and other tools (Monday, Airtable, Asana, Trello, Google Sheets, SPS Commerce, etc.)
- Experience in a fast-paced, scaling organization (startups, services, production, hospitality a plus)
- Comfortable in a hybrid work environment (in-office presence in Boston required)
Bonus:
- Experience in art services, design, architecture, or B2B client services
- Track record of improving systems or building teams
