Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to oversee the design, delivery, and

expansion of Awareness USA's educational initiatives. This role will play a central part in

driving program excellence, managing teams, and building school and community partnerships.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has risen to challenges, understands the barriers faced

by low-income students, and brings hands-on experience in education and nonprofit leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across multiple program sites
  • Supervise and support volunteer teachers, trainers, and field staff
  • Work directly with public schools and administrators to coordinate curriculum delivery
  • Develop and implement life skills, digital literacy, and social responsibility programs
  • Monitor outcomes and adjust programming to maximize student impact
  • Drive grassroots partnerships and community engagement
  • Support fundraising, grant writing, and donor reporting as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are especially looking for someone who:

  • Has worked as a school teacher, counselor, or social worker
  • Has built or scaled a nonprofit focused on student success or community upliftment
  • Grew up in or has a deep understanding of low-income communities or Title I schools
  • Possesses a servant-leader mindset with a passion for equity and education
  • Understands the U.S. K–12 public school system
  • Has experience mentoring or guiding first-generation or under-resourced youth
  • Can manage multi-location operations and lead field teams with clarity and empathy

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in educational or nonprofit leadership
  • Proven success in program design, team management, or community organizing
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with using data to drive decisions and report impact
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field
