Position Title: Director of Operations

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Supervisory Position: Yes

Position Overview:

The Director of Operations is responsible for leading the Project Management team and ensuring consistent execution of projects in alignment with organizational standards, client expectations, and operational goals. This role focuses on driving process efficiency, managing external installation partnerships, and providing strategic oversight across all post-order activities — from scheduling and quoting to installation execution and closeout. The Director will guide the development of scalable workflows, ensure accurate labor pricing, and uphold accountability for project delivery, client satisfaction, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Project Management team, ensuring consistent application of organization's project delivery standards.
  • Establish and continuously refine organization's project management methodology, tools, and operational workflows.
  • Provide strategic oversight of all installation-related activities, including planning, subcontractor selection, labor pricing, execution, and post-installation review.
  • Oversee relationships with installation companies; ensure partner accountability, performance quality, and adherence to organizational expectations.
  • Evaluate and approve labor quotes; manage consistency, cost control, and competitiveness in pricing strategies.
  • Drive improvements in forecasting, resource allocation, and project scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, Client Service Coordinators, and Finance to ensure alignment across pre- and post-sale project activities.
  • Implement performance monitoring, including KPIs for PM productivity, job margin, and client satisfaction.
  • Support large-scale or high-priority projects directly as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead project audits, job cost reviews, and margin analysis to ensure profitability and process compliance.
  • Champion operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and employee development.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting on project status, risks, and team performance.
  • Support business development through strong execution, intermarket coordination, and operational reliability.
  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and provide ongoing strategic input to leadership on operational trends and team performance.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED Required
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to work beyond standard hours
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and offering solutions
  • Minimum four years of project management experience
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook)
  • Experience in contract furniture, interior construction, or real estate
  • Familiarity with industry-specific product and technical knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
