Position Title: Director of Operations, DCOM - Orange Park

Department: COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

Position Category: Staff Full Time

Job Description: The Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) Director of Operations directly reports to the Orange Park Campus Dean/Associate Dean and indirectly reports to the LMU-DCOM Chief Operating Officer (COO) and shall oversee the operations for DCOM at the Orange Park location. The Director shall assist the Campus Dean/Associate Dean and the COO in coordinating the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of the Orange Park location.

Required Qualifications: At least 5 years experience in a managerial level; academic experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the mission of LMU-DCOM to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large.
  • Promote effective working relationships among LMU faculty, staff, and students.
  • Implement the strategic planning process and contribute to the development of new programmatic strategic initiatives as directed by the COO.
  • Assist the COO in providing guidance to the Assistant/Associate Deans and/or Dean/Chief Academic Officer on strategic analysis, planning, and program budgeting.
  • Liaison between and work closely with LMU Administration, Finance, University Advancement (funds development and marketing/PR), Physical Plant and Properties, Human Resources, and Information Services, for the advancement of DCOM at Orange Park.
  • Assist the COO in coordinating the development, implementation, and management of DCOM annual budget.
  • Manage DCOM at Orange Park facilities, facilities-related projects, and special events.
  • Assist in the accreditation process for DCOM undergraduate osteopathic medical education.
  • Assist the COO in developing DCOM-related policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies, take advantage of new opportunities, and address organizational challenges.
  • Assist the COO in implementing and leading a continuous quality improvement process throughout DCOM at Orange Park and service areas, focusing on systems/process improvement.
  • Advise the Dean/Chief Academic Officer, Campus Dean/Associate Dean, COO, and/or Assistant/Associate Deans on vendor/new project contracts.
  • Assist the COO in mentoring and developing DCOM at Orange Park administrative staff through establishing goals, priorities, and training.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Participate on University committees.
  • Manage and complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
