About the Role

We are in search of a passionate and experienced Director to lead our global professional membership organization committed to advancing the health, welfare, and rights of individuals affected by HIV. In this impactful role, you will champion a human-rights-centered agenda focused on HIV, overseeing advocacy, education, and policy initiatives. You will ensure our members are actively engaged in key national and international policy discussions while building and implementing innovative programs designed to enhance nursing education, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and research.

Your leadership will be critical in driving fundraising efforts and effectively managing our substantial annual operating budget. We seek a visionary leader who can provide strategic direction to fulfill our mission and long-term objectives. To be successful, you should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, public health, or nonprofit management, complemented by an advanced degree in a related discipline. A deep understanding of current challenges in nursing, HIV care, and public health is essential, along with a proven track record in securing grants and overseeing nonprofit financial operations.

Experience working with a nonprofit Board of Directors, cultivating a strong team culture, and engaging in legislative and policy advocacy—especially within the context of HIV or healthcare—is highly valued in this role. We are looking for a critical thinker with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Your commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice will be key to steering our organization forward. Frequent travel will be required, and you must be adept at managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
