Job Description

Position Purpose: Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, organizes, directs, plans, coordinates, and evaluates all nursing services and programs within the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nursing philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Organize the department to define authority, responsibilities, and communication lines.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other disciplines and collaborate with staff and external groups for planning patient care.
  • Oversee educational activities, including orientation, clinical, and simulation programs, based on department needs and standards.
  • Evaluate educational processes and activities to meet patient, staff, and organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee policy development and review.
  • Lead staff engagement, performance appraisal, and competency development.
  • Manage budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Promote a safe environment, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in research, quality improvement, and strategic planning initiatives.
