Position: Director of Mission Critical – Hyperscale Data Centers

A nationally ranked builder is hiring a seasoned Director of Mission Critical to lead delivery of a major hyperscale data center program in the Columbus, Ohio region. This high-impact role provides executive-level oversight of schedule, budget, client relationships, and multidisciplinary teams across all phases of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of hyperscale data center projects—from preconstruction through commissioning
- Manage large, integrated teams including PMs, Superintendents, Engineers, Safety, and QA/QC across multiple packages
- Serve as the primary liaison with hyperscale clients, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, cost, and schedule standards
- Drive performance across concurrent scopes (civil, structural, MEP, commissioning)
- Oversee project staffing, financial reporting, schedule risk, and change management
- Implement program-wide best practices, workflows, and continuous improvement strategies
- Mentor and develop senior project and field staff
- Support long-term client partnerships and contribute to regional growth initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
- 15–20+ years of commercial construction experience, with a strong track record in mission-critical/data center programs
- Proven success overseeing $250M+ hyperscale or complex infrastructure projects
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, and mission-critical sequencing
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and executive communication skills
- Skilled in managing multiple scopes, tight timelines, and high-performance delivery
- Proficient in enterprise tools such as Procore, MS Project, Primavera, and Bluebeam
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with hyperscale clients such as AWS, Meta, Google, or Microsoft
- OSHA 30 and PMP certification preferred
- Willing and able to work full-time on-site in Columbus, OH, with regional travel as needed
