About The Role

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Maintenance Director based in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves supporting multiple plants in Alabama, California, and Virginia, focusing on equipment/asset reliability and developing a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program covering preventive, predictive, daily operation-based, corrective maintenance, and equipment upgrades. The director will partner with engineering, stores, and operations to implement and optimize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position emphasizes strategic planning and advising, with no direct reports, maintaining confidentiality of all company and customer information.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Director and 10 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting multiple plants at a director level.
  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance is highly desired.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Lean training or certification is a plus.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
