Job Responsibilities

• Assume administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for supervising and directing maintenance department
• Develop and implement repair and maintenance schedules for all areas of facility and grounds
• Supervise schedules for repair and maintenance contractors.
• 24 hour responsibility
• Participate in facility inspections and develop a plan of correction for Maintenance Services deficiencies noted
• Ensure that supplies are requested, approved, and ordered according to policy.
• Maintains building appearance and accessibility for residents and staff

Qualifications, Skills & Physical Demands

• Previous long-term care experience, required
• Experienced in Department of Health Surveys and Developing Plan of Correction
• 1 year's supervisory experience required
• Mastery level of technical expertise (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural knowledge)
• Possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant action
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
• Has a positive attitude and cheerful disposition
• Strives to ensure the safety of our residents
• Follows procedures and safety precautions
• Has excellent leadership and communication skills
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights
