JOB STATEMENT: The Director of Logistics and Warehouse Operations leads the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics, distribution, and warehouse operations across the organization. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory adherence in California.
Essential FUNCTIONS:
Logistics Strategy & Operations
- Develop and implement logistics and warehouse strategies aligned with corporate objectives and California transportation regulations.
- Oversee inbound and outbound transportation, 3PL vendor relationships, and distribution center performance.
- Ensure fleet operations comply with California DOT, CARB (California Air Resources Board), and EPA standards.
Warehouse Management
- Lead day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Implement best-in-class WMS (Warehouse Management System) and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Manage capacity planning, labor utilization, and space optimization.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, lead, and mentor logistics, warehouse, and transportation teams.
- Create training programs for warehouse safety, forklift certification, and California OSHA compliance
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, DOT, MFSCA and other relevant state and federal regulations.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for inventory control, returns, and loss prevention.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and KPIs.
- Monitor and report on logistics performance metrics, delivery timelines, inventory turnover, and shrinkage rates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in logistics and warehouse management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of California-specific transportation, labor, and safety regulations.
- Proven success in managing multi-site logistics or high-volume distribution centers.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and operate in warehouse and office environments.
- Must be able to travel within California up to 25% of the time to Southern California, 75% time in Northern California (Ceres).
