Job Description :

The Director of Leadership Pipeline position actively participates in the development of a comprehensive lay leadership development strategy for the Jewish Federation and the local Jewish community. The Director of Leadership Pipeline works closely with the Community Engagement Managers as a liaison between community members and the Jewish Federation in order to expand the database of potential new leaders and supporters.

  • Develop Leadership Opportunities
    • Work with the Director of Leadership Development and Governance as a thought partner to create and implement annual onboarding workshops for Board, Committee Chairs and Members, Congregational Leaders, Agency Lay Leaders and Kehillah Chairs, Leadership and Coalition members, skill-based workshops for community leaders, and develop a community based cohort model for Leadership Development.
    • Create and implement connections to the work of the Leadership Development plan for congregational and agency leaders which could include social media groups, additional workshops or gatherings, and web-based resources.
    • Serve as a liaison to connect Jewish Federation affinity groups to the community..
    • Work with lay leadership to develop and implement future Leadership Development opportunities
  • Support strong stakeholder relationships
    • As part of the External Affairs team, steward relationships with top professionals and lay leadership at local synagogues and agencies. Identify opportunities for partnership. Promote opportunities to support Jewish Federation initiatives.
    • Identify, create and plan presentations to offer to diverse congregational and agency groups in an effort to strengthen connections between organizations and Federation and showcase Federation impact in the community.
  • Steward a portfolio of lay leaders
    • Serve as the Staff Lead for the Leadership Pipeline Advisory Board which enables community members to move along their leadership journey
    • Build and Develop the Board of Ambassadors including recruitment, engagement and training. Serve as liaison between the Board of Ambassadors and the Federation staff.
  • Implement a volunteer tracking system to include volunteer interests, activities and involvement and suggest opportunities for further engagement of donors within Federation and partner organizations.
  • Identify and guide rising and seasoned leadership through an ongoing series of leadership development opportunities
  • Engage with a cross-departmental professional team to connect leadership training, philanthropy giving, and governance roles for each leadership donor.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Valid drivers license, access to a car, in-force automobile insurance. Availability for periodic events and meetings outside of regular working hours.

Education & Training Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of working experience in a non-profit setting
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of progressive supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • Deep knowledge of Jewish holiday cycles, communal norms and emerging trends
  • Proven experience developing programs and running successful events.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends and Shabbat, and/or when events are scheduled
