About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Director of K-12 Education Programs to lead our Bob and Marion Wilson Teacher Institute, Educator Resource Library, and engaging school and youth group programming. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide visionary leadership and play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and impact of our educational initiatives. You will oversee the Teacher Institute's professional development sessions, manage a team of dedicated professionals, and foster valuable partnerships with educational organizations.
Your responsibilities will include revitalizing school and youth group programming, creating an exceptional scholastic experience, and ensuring all educational initiatives adhere to best practices in museum education. To qualify, you should possess a Master's degree in education, history, or a related field, along with 10-15 years of proven experience in museum education leadership. You should have a successful track record in managing teams and leading teacher professional development programs, along with a strong understanding of the American education system and social studies curriculum.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills who can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. You will also collaborate closely with our Development team to cultivate support and effectively represent our organization at professional conferences and meetings.
