Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned technology and security leader to serve as Director of IT for our fast-growing ISP. You will own the enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity program, and compliance efforts spanning 3 core data centers, hundreds of distributed data hubs, and all corporate systems. Your leadership will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and reliability of critical network infrastructure and customer data at scale. The position reports to the CIO or equivalent level.

Key Requirements
  • Define and communicate the long-term IT vision and roadmap, ensuring technology investments directly support business growth and customer experience.
  • Partner with the executive team to identify opportunities for digital transformation, process automation, and new revenue-enabling technologies.
  • Manage data center IT infrastructure and coordinate secure operations across distributed data hubs.
  • Present IT strategy, cybersecurity posture, and risk management updates to the executive leadership team.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, COO, and CTO on technology's role in business strategy, customer trust, and market differentiation.
  • Oversee enterprise software development initiatives, ensuring high-quality delivery, scalability, and security.
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and governance of enterprise IT systems and services, supporting corporate functions and network operations across the organization.
  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide security strategy covering data centers, network infrastructure, and corporate IT.
  • Lead IT infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and business continuity planning.
  • Design and enforce policies for access control, network segmentation, endpoint protection, and physical security.
  • Lead security risk assessments, audits, vulnerability management, and compliance programs (FCC, CPNI, CCPA).
  • Implement and manage centralized monitoring (SIEM), incident detection, and response capabilities.
  • Drive organizational change by fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation across IT functions.
  • Lead rapid response to security incidents across all facilities and systems.
  • Coordinate root cause analyses and remediation with IT, network, and field teams.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Build and mentor a senior IT leadership team capable of scaling infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service delivery for rapid growth.
  • Negotiate and manage strategic vendor and partner relationships, ensuring favorable terms, performance accountability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Experience managing audits (SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, or similar).
  • Partner with Engineering, Service Delivery, Field Operations, NOC and Executive Leadership on secure network expansion and service delivery.
  • Champion company-wide security and compliance initiatives, integrating IT into every aspect of business risk planning.
Requirements
  • 10+ years in progressive IT leadership roles.
  • Strong technical background in systems, networking, software development and infrastructure in a telecom or ISP environment.
  • Demonstrated experience securing multi-site ISP or telecom infrastructure, including data centers and distributed network points.
  • Deep knowledge of network security architecture (firewalls, VLANs, BGP, OSPF), physical security controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiar with technologies like MikroTik, Ubiquiti, pfSense, Fortinet, Cisco, or Palo Alto.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security tools and SIEM, endpoint protection, identity/access management, and incident response.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence and practical mindset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or comparable Military experience (advanced degree a plus).
  • Experience securing broadband/fixed wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating IT with customer provisioning systems, billing, and support platforms.
  • Proven track record managing enterprise software development programs and large-scale implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevOps, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture.
