We're seeking a Director of Human Resources who is passionate about people, culture, and equity to lead HR strategy and operations in support of our dynamic, mission-driven team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact at a historic performing arts institution committed to accessibility, inclusion, and artistic excellence. What You'll Do:
  • Champion a positive, inclusive workplace culture across our 65 full-time and 400+ part-time/seasonal staff.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning-helping to attract and support top talent from all backgrounds.
  • Drive employee engagement, performance development, and culture-building initiatives that reflect our organizational values.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff, offering guidance on employee relations, compliance, and workplace best practices.
  • Collaborate across departments to build and sustain a workplace where creativity, belonging, and growth flourish.
Position RequirementsWhat We're Looking For:
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit or arts setting.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and inclusive recruitment strategies.
  • A collaborative, people-first leader with strong communication skills and a passion for workplace equity.
  • Proficiency with HR systems such as Trakstar and Paychex.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and HR certification required.
