Director of AccountingLocation: New YorkJob Type: HybridSalary: $135,000-210,000/yearClient/Job Summary:Our client is a leading national bank that is seeking a tech savvy accounting and finance professional to join their Wholesale Controllers group within their finance team. This individual will be responsible for the month-end close process, review entries and reconciliations for the books of both broker dealers and non-broker dealers.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly financial close and consolidation process, ensuring accuracy across domestic and international entities.
• Manage a small team of accountants to deliver timely and compliant financial reporting in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
• Monitor and account for foreign currency impacts and translation adjustments.
• Support internal and external audits through documentation, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, process documentation, and data integrity.
• Contribute to system upgrades, chart of accounts management, and other strategic finance initiatives.
• Assist with regulatory and management reporting, including quarterly and annual disclosures.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree and/or CPA a plus.
• Series 7 and 63
• 8+ years of experience in public accounting and/or financial services
• Good understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX, Microsoft Excel, and other automation tools and resources
• Power BI, Alteryx, Power query, pivot tables, and advanced formulas experience a plus
