We're seeking a Director of Environmental Services to join our leadership team and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Director of Environmental Services Position Summary

The Director of Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for overseeing the facility's housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes infection control, and leads a team that supports our mission of delivering exceptional resident care in a safe, well-maintained environment.

Director of Environmental Services Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and schedule the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure the facility meets or exceeds CMS, DOH, OSHA, and Joint Commission environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee infection control cleaning protocols in coordination with clinical staff.
  • Maintain building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety) and coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
  • Manage budgets, supplies, and purchasing for the EVS department.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure top-quality performance.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and resident needs.
  • Support survey readiness and participate in facility inspections.
Director of Environmental ServicesQualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in facilities management preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of environmental services or facilities leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (CMS, DOH, OSHA, Life Safety Code).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, infection control, and resident satisfaction.

Compensation: Up to $80,000/year (commensurate with experience)
