When you join Bridge Brothers, you're not just joining a company—you're helping to shape infrastructure that connects communities and stands the test of time.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead and grow our engineering team in Greenville, SC. This role is ideal for a senior-level civil or structural engineer with a strong background in steel design, project delivery, and process mapping. You will oversee all engineering activities, ensure technical excellence, support business development, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative and cost-effective bridge solutions to life.Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and technical oversight for all engineering operations
• Lead a team of engineers, drafters, and project managers through design, development, and delivery of custom bridge projects
• Serve as the technical authority on civil/structural engineering matters related to bridge design and construction
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Collaborate with sales, fabrication, and construction teams to support project planning, budgeting, and execution
• Review and approve engineering plans, calculations, and specifications
• Champion continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and quality control
• Support hiring, mentoring, and performance development of the engineering team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (PE license required)
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in bridge design or related infrastructure projects
• Strong working knowledge of engineering codes, standards (AASHTO, AISCE, IBC, ASCE, etc.), and design software-
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with custom design challenges
• Experience leading a team a plus
• Experience in custom steel fabrication a plus
